Mobile money across networks: what to know.
Ghana's major networks each run their own mobile money service. A few fundamentals make transacting across them simpler and safer.
One wallet per network
A mobile money wallet is tied to a registered SIM on its network, whether that is MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash or AT Money. Your wallet, your number and your PIN belong together, and they are the foundation of every transaction you make.
Cash in, cash out
A service point converts cash to wallet balance and back again. You hand over cash to load your wallet, or withdraw from your wallet and receive cash, with confirmation on your phone each time. Count your cash at the counter and read the confirmation message before you leave.
Sending across networks
Transfers between different networks are supported in Ghana, so a wallet on one network can send to a wallet on another. The habit that matters most is confirming the recipient's name on the prompt before you approve. A few seconds of checking prevents the most common and most painful mistakes.
Keep it secure
Your PIN is yours alone. No agent, including our own staff, ever needs it to serve you. If a prompt, a call or a message ever feels unusual, pause and ask at the counter. Ideasflip service points support all of Ghana's major networks, and our team will walk you through anything that is unclear.
